Why is mobility so important?

Because it can help keep us moving pain-free, throughout the day, especially when working out.

Mobility is the ability of a joint to move freely through a given range of motion without restriction from surrounding tissues.

Over time mobility can start to decrease due to a growing sedentary lifestyle of moving less.

One of the simplest ways to maintain mobility both is to keep our bodies and joints moving freely, without restriction, in the widest range of motion possible.

So, here are 3 of the tools I’ve used to enhance my mobility using some of the most inexpensive equipment you can find.

The Lacrosse Ball ($3-$6/ball)

At about $3-$6 per ball, the lacrosse ball has been a staple piece of equipment in my mobility toolbox. You can typically find them at your nearest sporting goods store or can order them online.
