If there’s one thing I can’t stand seeing in the gym is people wasting their time during a workout.

They are constantly checking their phones. Take too long of a break in between sets of exercises.

While they sit there on a piece of equipment, wasting valuable workout space and time.

Precious minutes tick by on the clock while they’re looking in the mirror, wondering why they are not seeing the results they want to see.

Here are 5 things you could be doing instead to help you train more effectively.

  1. Perform Supersets — One of my favorite things is performing another exercise right after another one. A simple example of a superset is performing a set of push-ups, then going right into doing a set of bent-over back rows using a dumbbell, working the opposite or opposing muscle. It’s a great way to maintain a balanced physique. If your goal is to build more muscle, you can superset another exercise that trains the same muscle.
