One of the best apps I’ve used to track my food intake has been the ‘Bitesnap’ app.

It’s relatively easy to use once you set it up with your specific metrics, and dial it in to match your specific nutrition goals.

Getting started

After downloading it, set up your profile by inputting your age, sex, weight, height, and activity level.

Input your activity level based on the number of hours your exercise per week.

Then, it will calculate:

  • BMI (Body mass index) — attempts to quantify the amount of tissue mass from your weight divided by your squared height.
  • BMR (Basal metabolic rate) — estimates how many calories you burn without physical activity.
