Why a Kettlebell Is the Only Piece of Workout Equipment You Really Need

You may just ditch you gym membership, Peloton or magic exercise mirror telling you to do more curls.

In one of my previous stories, I couldn’t quite pick only one piece of fitness equipment if I had to choose one.

But, If I could only have one, hands down, without a doubt, it would be a kettlebell.

With all the various movements, exercises, and positions you can do with a kettlebell, you can’t go wrong.

It’s the most functional workout equipment, bundled up in a nice cast-iron ball.

Take it from someone who has taken 5 different kettlebell certifications and swung “bells” for nearly two decades.

Here’s why kettlebells are the only workout equipment you really need.

Low maintenance costs

Fancier isn’t always better for fitness equipment, and it can be expensive to maintain.

I still have the same pair of cast-iron kettlebells for over 20 years. Other than some slight wear and tear, they still feel brand new.

Besides cleaning them from time to time, kettlebells don’t require any other maintenance.

In over 20 years of lifting, I haven’t broken one yet.

I can only imagine how much it costs to repair a Peloton, treadmill, or Tonal.

I’ll take my pair of kettlebells any day.

Ditch your gym membership

Most gym memberships cost too much.

Even more surprising is that the fancier the gym, usually the fewer kettlebells they have.

And many of the more expensive commercial gyms don’t carry them at all.
